Clifton 2 Piece Chip Breakers

Clifton 2 Piece Chip Breakers are and effective way of improving the performance of standard metal bench planes. The 2 Piece Chip Breaker reduces blade "chatter". Its hinged joint and extra thickness mean that the cutting blade is rigidly clamped to the frog and is fully supported along its entire width and length. A snug fit prevents shavings from being forced between cutting iron and chip breaker. The 2 Piece Chip Breaker facilitates honing of the cutting iron, since the lower part can be easily removed without losing the original chip breaker setting. They will fit all makes of metal bench planes including Stanley, Record and Footprint.
