These Plane Irons give you the opportunity to obtain superior results with your metal planes.  The laminated plane irons are 5/64" thick and will take a sharper edge and hold it longer than those of any original manufacturer. It is a forge lamination of #1 Blue Steel and soft steel by Tsunesaburo, master of blade smiths, and is hardened to Rc66.  #1 Blue steel, noted for its durability, is the most widely used material for the production of professional quality Japanese plane irons.  The iron comes sharp but should be honed for best performance.
