have a single set of teeth and are taper ground to prevent binding in deep cuts.
These saws are useful for those cuts which require the blade to be laid flat on
the work. The 7´" to 9´" sizes are best suited for furniture and fine work. The
large sizes are used for carpentry and large work. This Z Ripping Saw has a 10"
Blade length with a 24" Overall length and 10 tpi. The Z Ripping Saw is suitable
for ripping all soft and hard woods. It is ideal for cutting tenons and very
large dovetails. The blade is 0.020" thick and cuts a 0.030" kerf. The teeth are
small back to front for a smooth start to your cut and are impulse hardened for
extended wear.

What is impulse hardening? According to the
Razorsaw web site:
Impulse hardening is the modern method of creating a saw blade with a long
working life. The cutting edge is heated for 0.003~0.005 seconds by applying a
electrical current at 27.12MHz. This creates a shock wave on the surface of the
each tooth that hardens it to Hv900~1200.
For comparison,
sharpening files are only hardened to Hv800~850. Making it nearly impossible to
sharpen with regular saw files.
