Heavy Duty Swan-Neck Hollowing Tool
This robust tool
weights almost 2 pounds with a 9" 3/4" flat shank running the whole
length. The flat side is placed on the tool rest to provide plenty of
support and stability during hollowing operation. The swan neck design
allows the tool to reach deep inside the work piece. The handle (14") is
solid ash, the overall length is 23 inches. Two interchangeable tips are
provided made using M-2 high speed steel for long time cutting between
sharpening. The hollowing tip is cut from a 1/4" rod about 1 1/2"
of
which is flattened and cutting tip formed at one end. The other tip is a
1" round scraper for finishing operation. A a fine diamond slip is
recommended for sharpening.
